HAWASA performs routine yearly maintenance of the water system by flushing fire hydrants periodically. This begins at 11 p.m. and concludes early the next morning. When this occurs, you may experience cloudy water, air in your water supply lines, or low water pressure. Allow 24 to 48 hours for these symptoms to subside before reporting a problem. Check back here periodically for flushing dates or other system information.

Welcome to the HAWASA website. This site's purpose is to provide updated information and services to the Halifax water and sewer system users. This information will include meeting dates and times, public emergency alerts, online bill payment options, water and sewer service request info, agendas, minutes, rates, regulations and more. Please feel free to contact us with suggestions or questions at info@hawasaonline.com

HAWASA  has been serving the Halifax community for several years now. Our organization is one of Halifax's finest. In 2007 the former Halifax Municipal Authority and Halifax Area Water Authority merged to create what is now known as the Halifax Area Water and Sewer Authority to address water and sewer needs in both Halifax Borough and Halifax Township. Monthly meetings are the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Halifax Borough building meeting room, 203 Armstrong St. (rear of Post Office). You should all know that we are all priviledged to have fresh mountain spring fed water in our homes through the efforts of this local authority.
